Our Story and Philosophy
We are a team passionate about hospitality, born and raised amid the unique beauty of Liguria, the Gulf of Poets and the Cinque Terre.
Our goal is simple: to welcome you to a modern space, thoughtfully designed down to the last detail, in the heart of La Spezia, and offer you the perfect base for exploring the region.
We designed every detail of Al Molo 21 with the modern traveler in mind. We know how important a good night's sleep is after a long day hiking along coastal trails or exploring villages by train. That's why we've invested in structural soundproofing, the convenience of electronic locks, and warm, contemporary furnishings.
We love our region and would be delighted to share our recommendations for the best local restaurants, the quickest transport connections and hidden gems along our coast. Choosing Al Molo 21 means choosing an authentic, safe and personalized hospitality experience for your perfect vacation. We look forward to welcoming you!
Useful information for your stay
- To help you best plan your arrival in La Spezia and your journey towards the Cinque Terre, we have gathered the most important logistical information here:
- How to reach us by train (recommended): The property is located in via Nino Bixio 21, just a few minutes' walk from the central station of La Spezia (La Spezia Centrale). From here, trains to the Cinque Terre depart frequently and reach the first village (Riomaggiore) in just 7 minutes.
- Ferries and Trails (Useful Links): To plan your excursions by foot or by sea, consult the official website of the Parco delle Cinque Terre to check the status of the trails, and check the ferry timetables on the Navigazione del Golfo website.
- Arrival by car and parking: We are located in a central area but not in a ZTL (Restricted Traffic Zone). If you travel by car, you can use the blue-line paid public parking spaces available in the surrounding streets, or use a parking lot located a short distance from the property at a price of €5 per 24 hours.
- Self check-in and independence: Thanks to our combined electronic lock and mechanical closure system, you can access the property in complete safety and independence. Just remember to communicate your expected arrival time if it falls outside the standard time slot (15:00 - 19:00).
- Tourist tax: We remind you that the Municipality of La Spezia requires the payment of a tourist tax (to be settled separately or at check-in, excluding minors under 16).

Our area
Welcome, it is an understatement to describe this as an extraordinary region. We are talking about the province of La Spezia, where nature, history and hospitality come together in an unforgettable embrace.
Our thoughts immediately, almost inevitably, turn to the wonderful Cinque Terre. These colorful villages clinging to the cliffs, famous around the world, are an invaluable heritage and a picture-postcard sight that enchants millions of visitors.
But our province is much, much more. It is a treasure trove of hidden gems just waiting to be explored.
Beyond the most popular coastal routes, our trails open up a world of beautiful walks through the greenery of our hills. Here, Mediterranean scrub, olive groves and lush woods create a unique contrast with the deep blue sea. There's something magical about walking in the silence of nature, with views stretching across peaks that seem to plunge straight into the sea. It's a paradise for lovers of hiking, tranquility and unspoiled beauty.
As we travel along our coastline, we come across breathtaking gems surrounding the Gulf of Poets. I’m thinking of Lerici, with its majestic castle reflected in the water and romantic coves that have inspired writers and artists through the ages, and, on the opposite side of the gulf, Portovenere, where time seems to have stood still, with its distinctive row of colorful buildings and the Church of San Pietro clinging to the rocks, defying the waves.
But the beating heart of this region is also the city of La Spezia. A vibrant, dynamic, welcoming city that knows how to transform itself and come alive. From historic celebrations of the sea and its traditions to the cultural, musical and culinary events that fill our squares and streets with energy, Spezia always shows its great spirit and its ability to make everyone feel at home.
Finally, you can't fully understand who we are without sitting down to eat. Our region is a journey for the taste buds, too. Savor the excellent traditional cuisine, where seafood dishes pair beautifully with the simple, authentic flavors of the land, such as the local mesciua soup, stuffed mussels and freshly baked focaccia. And of course, enjoy it all together over a glass of the excellent wine from our vineyards. This heroic wine is born from the hard work of growers tending terraces perched above the sea, and captures the warmth of the sun and the salty character of our coast in every glass.
La Spezia province is therefore not just a destination, but a complete experience that speaks to the senses and the heart.
We invite you to discover it, walk its paths, experience it and be enchanted by every single view.
